I read it in a Dolly magazine when I was about 14. So, like, 10 years ago! Alison Brahe (sp?) who married the spunky Cameron Daddo (or a different Daddo?) published her guacamole recipe so I tried it and it has stuck with me since. Thanks Alison!



  • Avocado, 2 x large
  • 2 x roma tomatoes
  • 1 x small red onion
  • 3 x garlic cloves
  • Cracked pepper
  • Himalayan salt
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Optional: 1 x tablespoon whole egg mayo
  • Optional: 1 x teaspoon pesto
  • Optional: Chives or italian parsley



Guacamole ingredients


  • ┬áCut avocado in half with a sharp knife, lengthways, tracing a line around the skin and cutting through to the seed
  • When your cuts connect, twist the halves to separate them, leaving the seed in 1 half
  • Carefully remove the seed
  • Using a spoon, scoop the avocado out into a bowl, add lemon juice and mash with a fork
  • Dice tomato, onion and finely chop garlic
  • Add to avo and stir along with salt & pepper
